Description

Kakishibu Coat G, A Wood Protective Coating (for exterior and interior uses)

Kakishibu Coat G has solved problems related to exterior coating only with kakishibu (persimmon tannin)! It is a safe, non-hazardous, odor-free, and environmentally friendly wood protective coating. It does not interfere with the breathing of wood and has excellent antiseptic, insecticidal, and weather resistant properties.

Coating exterior walls with Kakishibu Coat G prevents kakishibu from running off and maximizes the functions of kakishibu.

Instructions

A. Instruction for “Kakishibu + Kakishibu Coat G” (cases where the Kakishibu Coat G is applied after applying kakishibu)

*For cases where only the Kakishibu Coat G is applied, see instructions “B” below.

Coating Area

40 m2 per <Kakishibu (1.8 L) + water (1.8 L)> *Kakishibu can be applied without diluting with water.

(In that case, you need two 1.8-liter bottles of kakishibu)

40 m2 per Kakishibu Coat G (only 2 kg): *Please be advised that the coating area is subject to change depending on the absorption of liquid by wood and liquid drips.

How to Use

(1) Remove all stains, dust, and smears from the wood that you wish to coat.

(2) Dilute the kakishibu solution (1.8 L) with two part of water and apply with a brush for water-based coatings in a specific direction.

*Wipe drippings and air bubbles off the surface with waste cloth.

(3) Dry (2) fully for more than half a day. *Be sure to check that it is completely dry.

(4) Shake the container of Kakishibu Coat G (2 kg) well.

(5) Rub the Kakishibu Coat G into the surface with a brush.

The more coats you apply, the stronger the coating becomes. For exterior surfaces, we recommend that you apply two coats or more.

*The Kakishibu Coat G cannot be diluted with water.

If you want a lighter color, please use a dedicated thinner.

*For color adjustment, see “Color Adjustment” below.

*Walnut and white colors come out cleaner when applied twice or more.

(6) Let (5) stand for more than a day to dry. Be sure to check that it is completely dry.

Points to note

1. Since this product is absorbed well and hard to make uneven, you do not have to wipe the surface. However, please note that pigment may remain on the surface depending on the quality of the wood. (Be sure to test the product before using it in a full-fledged manner.)

2. For interior coating, when applying the product to the floor or other places where your hands can reach or touch, be sure to test and check that the pigment does not stain your hands. We recommend wiping the surface after coating. After wiping, be sure to check that you do not get the pigment on your hands. (Please note that depending on the material, pigment may remain on the surface and stain your hands.)

3. Be sure to use this product in places where the temperature is 5 degrees Celsius or higher.

For <B. Kakishibu Coat G (cases where only the Kakishibu Coat G is applied to wood)>, see instructions “B” below.

Color Adjustment

Color: Six colors (kakishibu, ancient, persimmon, black <ink black>, walnut, and white)

● If you want a darker color, either repeat the coating process or blend any two of the six colors of Coat G. When blending colors, add a dark color to your favorite light color little by little.

● If you want to a lighter color, please use the Kakishibu Coat G Thinner. With the thinner, you can adjust the color without spoiling the functions of the Kakishibu Coat G. However, the thinner cannot lighten the ancient color or black. You can create your favorite color by blending any two of the six colors of Coat G. When blending, add a dark color to a light color little by little.

*When using the Kakishibu Coat G Thinner, adjust the color by using it in the proportion of one to one or less. Please note that if you use more thinner than the proportion, the liquid may become bleached.

Handling Precautions

– This product is not edible. Use as a coating.

– Please note that the color and finish vary with the properties of the wood or other surface. Be sure to test before using.

– Since persimmon tannin reacts chemically with iron, use plastic containers.

– If the coating liquid drips on a concrete or tiled surface, wash the surface with water immediately. Please note that if you do not wash it promptly, the coating will adhere to the surface.

– Wash the brush with water after use.

– Use this product within six months after the date of manufacture. Any leftover coating should be kept in a sealed container and stored in a dark place where the temperature stays above 5 degrees Celsius.

– Store it sealed in a place inaccessible to children. Do not store it with food.

– While this is a safe product, be sure to wear protective gear during use.

– Since the coating cannot be removed once it gets on your clothes, wear casual clothes that you would not mind getting dirty.

– If you get the coating on your skin, wash with soap. After coating, wash your hands thoroughly.

– If the coating should get into the eyes, rinse with lots of water and consult a physician. The same applies to accidental ingestion.

– Do not discharge the leftover coating or waste liquid into sewers or rivers. Do not use the empty containers for other purposes. Dispose of them as required by laws and regulations, such as outsourcing to a waste disposal operator.
